Texas stands on the front line of the national border crisis and our communities feel the consequences every day. Human trafficking, cartel driven smuggling, and the flood of fentanyl do not stop because Washington hesitates. We need action that respects the law, supports local authorities, and restores control to the people who live and serve on the border.
My approach begins with resources that work. Finish the wall in high traffic corridors. Deploy sensors, cameras, and aerial tools that give agents real time awareness. Expand the number of immigration judges and streamline processing so cases are resolved quickly and fairly. End catch and release that invites repeat crossings. Empower sheriffs and state partners with information sharing and funding so the front line is unified.
We must designate major cartel networks as foreign terrorist organizations. These groups poison our communities and exploit the vulnerable. Treating them as national security threats opens the tool kit required to dismantle their finances, disrupt their logistics, and hold their leaders accountable. This is not only a border policy. It is a public safety policy for every town in America.
Legal immigration should be predictable, merit based, and enforced. We can welcome newcomers who follow the rules while protecting citizens from the chaos that illegal entry creates. Border communities deserve to plan their public safety budgets without surprise surges, and families deserve to know that their children can grow up without the shadow of cartel violence. Security and compassion can exist together, but security must come first.
I will work with local leaders across the district to make sure federal policy reflects on the ground realities. Results start with listening to the men and women who stand the watch every day. Together we will restore order at the border and protect Texas families.
I will work to expand alliances with county judges and mayors who need federal partners that deliver timely resources instead of press releases.
Shelters and nonprofit partners should receive predictable support when federal policy creates surges so local taxpayers are not left holding the bill.
We will require regular public reporting on encounters, processing times, and removals so citizens can see the facts.
We will post progress updates and invite public feedback because accountability is the only way to turn promises into lasting results.
